The Notebook
Shock me, shock me, shock me! This movie was actually good. I'm not one for romances usually, but the odd one will be to my pleasing. They usually have to be true romances though. Like, go big or go home. One romance that I love is The Princess Bride. Classic. The Notebook kind of reminded me of The Princess Bride in not only was it a classic romance, but it was narrated in the same style. You know how Colombo reads the book to Fred Savage while he's sick and the movie plays while he's reading with little breaks of reality here and there? Well this is the same. Except it's an old man reading to a crazy old woman in a senior's home. What made this movie different, is that the old man was reading the story of their life together, from the very first in every detail, to his wife, who has lost all her memory, but comes back and remembers everything for maybe 5 minutes a day. Does that make sense? The first hour is kinda cheesy because its all about them falling in love and how crazy they are about each other, but the movie does a 360 and you become enthralled. There are even boys I heard of who liked this movie! What makes it complete is that Ryan Gosling is it. My old crush. Everyone remember Sean from Breaker High? So dreamy. It was also nice to watch a movie that is happy. There was no violence and corruption, just a movie that makes you feel good. Makes you believe in love at first sight. I mean it ain't no Die Hard, but if you give it a chance you may enjoy it.
