National Treasure
When I saw the preview for this movie, I had no interest seeing it whatsoever. I didn't even feel like watching the preview. And I love previews. I mean Nicolas Cage as an action hero and thief? HA! But honestly, the first 10 minutes into the movie I was hooked! It was just a great fantasy mixed with reality type movie. So to summarize, Nick Cage is handed down a clue to the greatest treasure in all the world from his grandfather. He is now like the 8th generation trying to find the treasure map. Nick gets old and is still searching for the map, he keeps finding more clues and the map ends up being on the back of the Declaration of Independance. The bad guys are these guy who used to work with Nick in helping him to find the tresaure, so now they backstabbed him and are trying to get the Declaration for themselves. So now the only way Nick can save the Declaration is by stealing it, so that the bad guys don't steal it. A lot of craziness and suspense goes on and it is quite enjoyable. As the movie furthers on (is that grammatically correct?) more cheesy moments expose themselves, which made me throw up a couple times in my mouth a little. Do they ALWAYS have to add romance to the movie? Honestly, do the producers think that they are giving women a little relief by throwing in all that mushy shit just to even out the fact that they were drug along to an action movie by their boyfriends/ husbands? Is this what they think? I'd prefer without the romance in many cases. Girls are good for lots of other things than making out. Give us some freakin' credit! Anyways, I digress...Overall it is a good movie full of suspense. Maybe not a pay-7.50-at-the-theatres type movie, but definitly a renter.
THe part that made me shit my pants though, was the preview. it showed nothing but the title. And the font looked DAMN good. What movie is it for you may ask? I coudn't even contain my excitement in the theatre. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Coming Next summer. If you haven't read the trilogy of four yet...do it...now...before it's too late. Then we can all go to the theatres next summer and watch it. It will be the new Star Wars... and we can all dress in costume. I can't wait.
